I will try to keep this short as it's quite late in the evening right now.
Owning the retail shop has got nothing to do with having a career. My character got very restless because she has no job. Maintaining a retail shop is hard work. There are so many customers and since they only have one employee, the employees can only do one thing at a time. Employees can help restock items, clean the store, ring up customers and answer questions. In this case, Sathia only employed one worker.
Also, it is possible to live in the shop and put in a bed and kitchen there so that the boss don't have to go home regularly. However, since my character is married, she misses her family and I had to send her home.
Family members can help run the shop but this only applies to adults and teenagers. Kids are not very useful in a store. They can't help so they just run around or sleep in the bed.
Overall, I think that owning a retail store is not for the family sort of person but they can go there as a family and help run the store together.
Look out for the shopping cart bubble above the customer's head. It means that they are ready to buy. It is a lot of hard work to get the store running. I was worried that my character Govinda would die because he was so exhausted, hungry and unhygienic. He went to work with all these needs in deep red. Fortunately, he survived and recovered.
That's it for now. I might take a break from this game to focus on other things for awhilele before I come back.
